Wurzel 16 Posted April 2, 2006 You really need to find out if you have power at the motor before going further. If they were intermittent before, then wiring is the main suspect. I have had a motor pack up on me though a long time ago in my old 1.6. Water had gotten in and corroded it to bits. Other thing to check is the fuse.
DrSeuss 0 Posted April 2, 2006 i've killed several wiper motors on my car, if you don't have the plastic scuttle cover on, water gets in and kills them dead, rather quickly. The wiper motor relay is in the fuse box, turn on the wipers and feel for a click.

rooster 0 Posted April 4, 2006 im really pissed off now i got a new relay from the scrappy no difference could it be the switch in the lever the washer jets work so there must be power or is it seperate my car is grounded because of this and its getting me mad now i have to find a nother motor and this isnt easy round here
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted April 4, 2006 Yes, it could be the column stalk thats dead. Only one safe way to test it, by replacement. Use a multimeter to check if you have voltage at the plug for it. You could be brave (or stupid) & try using another length of wire & bridging the plug connections for the stalk to see if you can get the wipers working to see if the stalk is dead or not. You have checked the fuse is OK haven't you? Graham.

rooster 0 Posted April 5, 2006 i have checked the fuses and see no blown ones plus the fuse is no 3 i believe and the stereo i have goes through that one and thats working. i have another relay ill try that today then ill remove the motor and get another from my local scrappy if they have one if not ill pm roy for the part. im just thinking its something small as ive done this before ripped things out replaced them and it still dont matter and then you find its a wire ref the stalk the washers work so im guessing power is getting to the stalk as water sprays when you pull back i dont think it would have two power supplies to the stalk ??. my 14 months of trouble free driving has come to an end lol
