Sunroof Glass

Don't ask :D

It's the slightly raised type of sunroof which I think was a dealer option rather than a factory option (although someone might correct me from the pic).

Has anybody fitted new glass before or know how much it's likely to cost?

Afraid I can't help with much but that looks remarkably like a factory sunroof. The dealer option ones are flat to the roof and hinge up at the back. Factory fit are a large glass panel that slides back.

wrt price, I'd get one second hand. Its only a piece of glass and most cars being scrapped will have one in so there should be plenty available for not much.

In which case you're right it's a factory fit one, slides backwards with no lift or hinge.

Cheers

Get to the scrappers!!

I assume you cracked it whilst doing the seals and tightening the screws up? :D

That's definately the factory fit roof, you can tell by the windscreen rubber as it has a flared top edge to act as a bit of a wind deflector... if it's a dealer or aftermarket fit they obviously don't swap the windscreen rubbers!

So yeah, should be easy to find a replacement at a scrappy :D

Do you have to pull a little flap down to release the vacume in the seal? If so its the factory one. There was also a dealer fit one that slides rather than tilts, for which you push a little button and slide it back, if its one of these Ive got a spare glass in reading which you can have for £20.

I had the dealer fit sliding roof on the Topaz... the key to identifying which roof you have is in the windscreen seal as I mentioned before

David,

Nice teasing pic you've used, you can almost see the sunroof from that angle.

I have the factory fit vacuum sealed full glass panel available for £35 collected from Woking.

Failing that then as previously stated have a nose around the scrappies.

That would be excellent, I'm in Bracknell so Woking is only down the road, have sent you a private message

Off topic ish but:

I have one of those in mine..... do you have a spare handle and/ or plastic surrounds? They are rare as rocking horse....
