Mi16 Engine/gearbox/driveshafts/hubs Question

hi there guys,

my first post......and bit of a silly question.......tried searching but couldnt find anything definite.

right.........1.6 205 gti fitted with mi16 engine and 1.6 gearbox/driveshafts/hubs

can just the driveshafts and hubs be swapped for 1.9 ones?

yes. with the 1.9 hubs you can run the 307 brake setup, its what i did.

Hello and welcome to the forum

 

Yeah, you can swap the shafts/hubs but you should do them at the same time and the shafts are different, you will also need the 1.9 brakes as well as those are different. Well worth it though as there's much more choice for upgrades after.

 

The gearbox's are all the same in the 205's (BE1 or BE3) so they can mix and match as you like.

You'll only really need the 1.9 discs with the 1.9 hubs as the 1.6 GTi calipers can be used with them.
