John_B 11 Posted March 27, 2006 I was driving back from Heathrow after my hols and my Mi started misfiring when I tried to get full throttle. Any one got any clue as to what may be wrong? I did find this, is it important? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . It drove fine like this for over 50 miles at 80mph while it was peeing down! Obviously I havent driven it since I realised. Ahl 4 Posted March 27, 2006 Don't worry about that, thats just the flux capacitor. Until you fix it the 205 will drive like a crap modern car, thats all.

What do you think did that then? I've just replaced the cap and arm and found one of the three bolts holding the arm on was missing. I suppose that would have done it if the arm hit it. Otherwise it could just have been a weakness I suppose? I ended up buying a Beru cap and arm from GSF for £52. Pug wanted £113 and Citroen £117. But the worst thing is that from GSF I could have bought a cap and arm for a 911 turbo of the same age for £28! What the hell is that about?
Jonmurgie 2 Posted March 28, 2006 It does seem the Mi suffers from steep pricing on a few parts... little choice in the matter really

He would of been fine driving at 80mph but hit 88mph and he would of seen some serious s*it!
C_W 3 1 Cars Posted March 29, 2006 Not sure why some ignition parts are so expesnvie for this engine. A local parts place to me wanted £19 for the rotor arm and even more for the cap. I bought one for about £14 in the end, but still dear! My old ones cost me about £8 (arm) and £14 (cap) for Intermotor from a trade place.
easypug 0 Posted March 31, 2006 I seem to remember paying around £20 for a cap/spacer plate and arm from my local motor factors a year or so ago.. How things change...
