175/65/14 Tyres

Quick question:

Just about to put new yokos (A539s) on my road rally 1.6, running normal 185/60/14 tyres. A mate happens to have 4 of 175/65/14 lying about as-new.

Rolling radius is fractionally larger, but would anybody expact any noticable handling changes (especially if I run a pair of one and a pair of the other - front/rear split)?

Cheers,

Andy

if your mate just has them laying about then you might as well give them a go.

if you split them front to back and they are less grippy than the 185s you will affect the handling, in theory if you put the least grippy tyres on the front it'll understeer and if you put them on the rear it'll oversteer but thats very over-simplified, you can't be sure until you try it.
