Weight Of 15" Wheels

Recommended Posts

Just find a base C5 with a dress rim, not a full alloy wheel. There's heaps of them.
Hopefully they are also fitted to the C5's here in the UK,

What width & offset are these Peter?

Graham.

Ideal offset but width would be nicer if it was 7". ;)

Thanks Peter.

Friends of mine widened theirs by an inch, no problems. They then fitted 205x50 tyres, unleashed more grip and put a conrod through the block!

I bought them from the local Citroen dealer. All C5 wheels are aluminium.

Cheap?

Seriously tempting.

GTi180 calipers fit under so I'd say yes.

I just weighed a 15 inch Mi16 alloy with a 195/55 tyre and it was about 16kgs! How much does a speedline weigh with a tyre?

Citroen C5 black wheels - 4.8Kg. They mighten be pretty, but they're light!
Ah how interesting! I'll keep my eye out for some for sure.

thanks Peter.

Anyone managed to find any of these in the UK?

I looked on the Citroen site earlier & all C5's have 16" wheels fitted. ;)

My 14" tyres are all nearly dead so I need some blank 15" rims for the tyres I have spare & these would be perfect.

There don´t seem to be 15" rims on german C5s either.

Could we have a partnumber, please ?

It appears the new Aust. models have also gone to 16" rims. You might need to find a wrecker who has early model rims.

I was talking with the tester when I got my retest done on Friday & apparently the spares on the C5 in the Uk are these rims. He said they looked very similar to the 1.6 GTi alloys in style.

I'm going to ask in the local Citroen dealer this week hopefully to find out for certain though.

Bad news !

The wheels in question had a problem with durability, which lead Citroen to call all C5 owners into the workshops and change the wheels for steel items.

The part number is said to have been deleted from Citroen´s parts catalogue.

I asked around a bit in our area and most Citroen people told me that the alloy wheels were binned after changing.

no, they changed the design from flat nut seats to tapered nut seats, still aluminium that LOOK like steel wheels because they're black!

Here's a set that just sold on eBay for 20 quid!

If these are definately alloy then I'm off searching local scrapyards.

Why didn't I check ebay this time last week? Just spent half an hour going through there looking for some but not finding any.

Well, I´ve been checking ebay for weeks now - with similar results.

Called in at my local Citroen garage yesterday to ask about these rims, apparently they are no longer available & they couldn't tell me what years they were fitted to the cars (as helpful as ever, surprised he didn't want a chassis number ;)) but he did pass on one bit of possibly useful information about them;

ATS got ther national contract to remove & replace these rims.

Just that because it is a few years since the recall finding some at ATS might be a waste of time.

Graham.

How did they widen the rims? Welding or a sort of stretching?
