Removing The Cam Sprocket.

Taking the head off an XUD7T (diesel) and have got to the point where haynes says remove the cam's sprocket. Ive got the bolt out but the sprocket aint just sliding off and I dont want to force it.

 

How do I get the Cam sprocket off?

 

And what is a woodruff key?

Taps from side to side and lots of wiggling generally does the trick, or maybe a puller if its proper stuck, or you could try shocking it loose.

Give it a soak in WD40 and then wiggle it like hell, usually works for me.....oooh er.

Its a key made out of wood and is ruff :wacko:

 

Its a small chunk of metal that sits in a cut out, helps 'lock' 2 pieces together so they turn at the same rate.
