laser green 1.9 0 1 Cars Posted March 23, 2006 Currently I have a full magnex system, I want to keep the manifold and go to standard for the rest of the system. Is there any problem with using the center and back section from pre 89 3 piece setup on a 91 pug 205, i.e mounting points etc. I know I'll have to go to powerflow and get a joining piece made up but this seems the best solution. If I buy the two piece one I'll have to hav some of it chopped off and still have a conecting piece made up. My main concern though is can I put a pre 89 exhaust on a 91 car? pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted March 23, 2006 Mounting points for three piece & two piece systems are the same but once you mated whatever system to the magnex (two piece cut down would be better as diameter is slightly bigger) without trying it I would like to say for certain. laser green 1.9 0 1 Cars Posted March 25, 2006 Got a quote fro one of the powerflow dealers, £60 for the center and backbox of a three piece system from arvin and then £25 to make up a joining pipe. He said that I would be better of with a bosal or walker exhaust. Does anyone agree with this. He did mention that the pipe diamiter of the three piece is slightly smaller, but feels that this is the best way to go.
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted March 25, 2006 I'd pick Arvin personally (& have done) as they are the only people known to make the downpipe of the correct design from supposedly the original Peugeot drawings. Bosal & Timax are all part of the same company as Arvin though so the choice is yours. You could get the backbox & centre pipe from www.buypartsby.co.uk for £28.51 & £22.91 each + vat & delivery (£5 ish iirc) Graham.
