Guest GRALLYE Posted March 20, 2006 Hello all I was just wodering if anyone can tell me the in gear speeds that a 1.6 GTi will do, mine does about 78 in third on the limiter, that seems short to me? any advise would be appreciated, im starting to think it has the wrong box. Adam B 0 Posted March 20, 2006 If you do a search on gear ratios theres quite a few graphs floating about.. You should be doing just under 4k rpm in 5th @70mph (you've got the right sized tyres on?) The 1.6 box is pretty short - unless you're on the motorway loads i'd live with it!! gear ratios see what a nice search can throw up? lol Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Guest GRALLYE Posted March 20, 2006 Ive fairly lost interest in the 306 now after 3 failures in a year. just gonna put an engine in it and sell it. Shame really cos its an awesome car when its going, KandN, devil decat and unknown exhaust. I occasionaly go on gti6,com but havent used my computer for a while.
