Leaky Heater Matrix

Recommended Posts

Im suspicious of my heater matrix, as whenever i turn the blower on it smells of antifreeze and the carpets are always damp. As theyre generally a pain in the arse to change, is it possible to get a pressure test or something done to confirm wether there is a leak?

Are you losing coolant, this would be the quickest way to check.

it sounds very much like it might be leaking yes, but they are a simple swap if it is!

its for a 106 actually!

I might be loosing coolant, but im not 100% on the head gasket and the rad either, I just want to find out why the carpet is wet and why i get a sore throat on long journeys.

simple as : taste your wet carpet ( :( ) on the end of your finger - it'll be sickly sweet if its coolant

then replace matrix

bosh!
