The wife's Colt has been running like crap recently.

I've replaced the plugs. The leads are ordered for it because the ones on the car give you a shock if you touch them so I take it they're fcuked.

The guys she's getting the leads off told her if that didn't cure it then it's probably the coil pack.

Does a coil pack look different from a normal distributor cap setup? It's just the car has a normal looking cap with the centre bit and 4 pins, and the rotor arm is round with the 1 contact point thing. There's no king lead just a plug into the body of the cap housing thing.

I've cleaned up the cap pins and the rotor arm pin and the car has been running better since.

Surely you man has it wrong that the car has a coil pack if it has this setup.

Thanks

Damien

If it helps my dad has a mitsi colt which had problems withh stuttering and misfiring especially when warming up, came to be told on the mitsi colt forums that it was the distributor cap failing

Btw from the dealer a dizzy cap i believe was £70 if not more about £35 from a motor factors

It's a 1.6glxi

Cheers.

It seems to have helped a bit when I cleaned out the cap connections.

The dealers were quoting £70 for a set of leads!

Got them ordered from a motor factors for less than £20 and I'll think I'll order the cap and arm when I collect the leads.
