Distributor Rotor

I'm trying to remove the distributor rotor on an mi and I thought it should just pull off but it doesn't want to move and I don't want end up breaking anything, if anyone knows the answer it'd be much appreciated..

Yeh i had similar problem before,i got mine of with two flat screwdrivers,levering equally and gently on both sides of the spindle,it popped off eventually

Thanks a million, I thought that alright but I hate putting pressure on stuff when I'm not 100% sure it's not going to be destroyed as a result!

On the mi16 the rotor arm is screwed on.

 

There are 3 small allen bolts holding the rotor to the metal mount. And a large bolt holding the mount to the end of the cam.
