Yes it a T25..I think im right in saying that you cant upgrade the turbo with the existing xm/406 manifold as it has a non standard flange, and wont take another typed turbo unit.

Im sure this has been discussed on here before

Best of getting a Turbo Technics manifold IMO,i would if i had the chance to start over again.

Super Josh

Yeah, you'll need a Turbo Technics manifold and then you can strap on an turbo with a T25/28 flange. They are unavailable now, but I have a brand new one for sale here

that mani is very tempting but slightly out of my price range. as the engine is going in the back there is no problem with space so i may make a mani to suit a t28. but the question is if i can get any turbo to suit am i better going for a t4 off a volvo or does anyone have any more ideas? subaru?

The mitsubishi TD04 (not to be confused with the garrett T4 which is massive) are quite well sized. IIRC the TD04-11G is about T25 sized, and the TD04-13G is about T28 size. Both are common on subarus, volvos, and maybe a vew saabs? Also Mitsubishi GTOs/3000GTs, some Evos I think, and a lot of jap diesel engines. I'm told the TD04s spool up a little better than the T25/28.

The Garrett T4 is enormous for a 1.9 8v and would take forever to spool up.

TD04-13G is a good choice for a 2.0T engine.

am asssuming that the above turbos mentioned are off evos or subarus? trying to build this engine slightly on the cheap, turbos are very cheap on ebay and like i've said any turbo can be fitted, although if anyone knows of any 2 litre turbo forged pistons going cheap would be glad to take them off their hands!! cheers lee

hope that helps as a guide to whats what for the pulsar which also has a 2.0l lump
