What Colour Seats Should My Gti Have

I've been looking for replacement seats for my 1989 1.6 GTI and I've seen other phase 1.5s with grey interitor. Mine has the black and red checkered seats. Is this right for a phase 1.5 or should they be grey?

hi mate ive heard that some of the later phase1.5's have a mix of diffrent things. if you have the grey plastics go for the phase 1 half leathers which are grey leather and a 2tone center. if u have a black plastics like on the phase2 then the red/black chequerd seats are fine. more than likely u will have the grey plastics

only the 1.9s had leather, sounds like you have the phase 2 seats.

Yeah I do have the phase 2 seats but I was wondering if that's right in a car the age of mine. I've seen the phases thread but didn't really seem to get any conclusive answers from it apart from some phase 1.5s might have been made up of phase 1 and 2 parts.
