its to allow oil to return to the sump directly from the head

condition appear to be fine i will be having it throughly checked before attempting to run this head as it will be going on my new engine

i intend to drop those oil Returns into the sump on the pump side of the Baffel

Looks like it's modeled on the modifications done on the French webpage (I'm sure someone on here has the link)

I never had the balls to drill and tap my head like that but provided you can get the right quality of pipework to deal with the heat at the back of the engine, plus the right bore of pipe so it doesn't clog up you should be laughing.

The only other thing I thought of was to cross-over the pipes so they feed into the opposite sides of the sump allowing the returning oil to flow past the pickup as the G-forces carry it to the side of the sump.

Definately going to be worth having a couple of litres extra oil in the sump for :)

The other thing that I thought about with that mod is that surely under extreme cornering conditions - ie running slicks and race suspension - the lateral G may overcome the vertical G and the oil may not flow down a diagonal pipe.

I'd love to hear the results of this though... :)

Worth while getting done so a good buy there, Gets the oil that the exhaust cam sit's in down into the sump, Just think about the drain holes being in front of the exhaust cam and you'll see why this is a good idea.

This was Birdii's, he is a member on here but doesn't visit very much anymore.

I talked to him at Cadwell last November & he mentioned he was getting a Caterham or something.

Maybe send him an e-mail through here & he could come reply to this topic with some info on his methods.

Graham.
