hi ya,i have just read the article on the twin carb conversion.it seems to easy to be true.is it really that easy? :) ..also what about the costs?.

Pro's = great sound especially on full chat. Increased power and torque.

con's = every 6 months or so may need a tune up, increased fuel consumption

 

overall in my opinion a great mod :)

Try some searchs... I think the general feeling now is that for not 'that' much more you can go for Throttle Bodies and a mappable ECU, and that's a LOT micer than carbs B)

ive had an 8v and 16v on carbs purely because of the noise

 

worth every penny to scare some grannies down sainos carpark!!

 

fuel consumption wasnt tooo bad but make sure you tell your insurer and make sure you get some decent rebuilt/newish carbs

dont wanna hijack here but whats the diff between mi16 and 1.9 carbs? just the inlet manifold? or is tht the same aswell? if so, carbs before engine for me B)

Jon, what are the advantages of TB's over carbs for the extra cash? Sorry if this is a dumb question?

Traceability (sp) and better mpg (on average ) not much on the top end power figure but sure they are better for midrange gains.
