Dave_McC 0 Posted March 12, 2006 The vacuum advance capsule on my 1600 cti is knackered, so I've removed the distributor from the car and tried to remove the vacuum capsule - it's a Bosch dizzy with part No 0237 009 066, and the advance unit is held on with 2 small bolts. Searching old threads indicates the operating arm unhooks from the dizzy internal mechanism, but I can't seem to get it to unhook. Is there a knack? Which way does it unhook? Also, from old threads, it looks like I have a 1.9 dizzy fitted - is this likely to be a problem? Thanks Dave
hengti 2 Posted March 12, 2006 (edited) should just unhook - there's a simple hole in the arm coming out of the vac adv which slides over a pin inside the dizzy if you can't get it off, I'd be worried something was bent edit - if you've removed the two screws, you should be able to move the adv unit around and see inside for an idea of how it should come off Edited March 12, 2006 by hengti
