Guest ronnie69 Posted March 11, 2006 I have a 309 gti that I am in the process of fitting twin 45's to. It has power steering which I plan to junk and move the alternator to the lower non-pas mounting position to ensure the inlet manifold clears the alternator. Is the pas bracket usable for the alternator or do i have to find a specific lower alternator monting bracket?? If so where can I get one?? Cheers Chris
Anthony 1,003 Posted March 11, 2006 Just get the mount and bracket from a non-PAS 205 or 309 1.6/1.9 You'll also obviously have to buy the non-PAS alternator belt as well, as the PAS one will be far too long.
mfield 20 Posted March 11, 2006 If you are using the magolesti (sp) inlet manifold you will need to remove metal even from the non-pas upper alternator bracket before fitting, you might want to shorten the two end studs aswell.
Kitsune 0 Posted March 12, 2006 Chris, I'm not sure what make that inlet is (came in the Webcon kit I believe), and it was a straight on fit on my old 8v (non pas). I'll be interested if you do have any fitting problems (ref removing metal).
NNN 1 Posted March 14, 2006 What about fitting twin carbs without removing the pas??
Guest ronnie69 Posted March 15, 2006 thanks for your help chaps. It is proving difficult to find anyone with the non PAS alternator bracket. Does anyone know anywhere I can get one other than the £30 direct from peugeot??
