Guest Mr Man Posted March 8, 2006 Foot to floor, the car begins to misfire at about 5000-5500rpm forcing a gear change. I have read some topics similar to this and the common response seems to be to check the ignition module/amp. Anything else I should bear in mind? - I've changed the dizzy cap and rotor arm recently and have new HT leads.
Paintguy 0 Posted March 9, 2006 Anything else I should bear in mind? - Fuel filter? It would cause more a feeling of holding back than a misfire, but if the filter's fairly blocked up, it may not be able to flow enough fuel to meet the demand at high revs, but could feel perfectly normal at lower revs, when supply exceeds demand. Guest Mr Man Posted March 9, 2006 It seems to be misifre... it feels like its hitting the rev limiter but presumably it shouldn't be anywhere near at 5,000? Also, I changed the filter recently.
