Couple Of 2.0 Turbo Questions

Recommended Posts

Ant

Hi,

Iv got a couple of questions on fitting the 2.0 turbo.

Ive read that i need to extend the bottom mount, but even if i do force the engine forward slightly ( ie emulate an exteded mount ) , its still stuck on the Master cylinder.. There doesnt seem any play really. Anyone got any advice ?

On the plumming side, the 605 rad had an extra water pipe that goes into the top of the block by the oil filter. There is no connection on the 205 Rad. Do i have to make a T piece and connect this before it hits the rad. Ive got no idea what its even needed for.

Also, i was planning on using the 205 coolant reservoir but there are only 2 main 605 water hoses. However, the 205 one has an extra hose that goes to under the throttle body on the 205 ( i think from what i remember ) Do i just block this hose connection off in the conversion

Cheers

Ant

i didnt use that top pipe because it always hit the master cylinder. i made it custom to come out the left and towards the front of the car.

i just blocked off the extra hose from the expansion bottle.

I dont know what the hose on the block is for, are you sure its not the heat exchanger/cooler or something??

It came from a 309 GTI automatic that i broke, guess the 205 auto's might have them aswell.

EDIT : the 309 in question had aircon as well, might be something to do with why the heat exchanger

was mounted on the gearbox, and thus need for this pipe,i dunno.

If i see one in the scrappy i'll give you a shout
