Flapping Speedo ...

Sorry to bring this up again, but I thought it might be worth mentioning :)

Going to fit a new speedo cable this morning with the cable I bought off ebay,

came in a genuine pug bag and was listed as for a 309GTI.

Just opened it first time this morning, and noticed the cable already

has some sort of heat sheilding sleeve on it, looks like it was part of the manafacturing process?

Anyone seen this before?

I haven't seen that on either of my 205s :D

My speedo needle doesn't wobble apart from very occassionally when it wobbles a bit at about 50mph. The strange thing is the fact that the cable is knackered, it's lost a lot of its sheething and the metal cable is exposed :) I would have expected it to wobble like crazy but its fairly rock solid. Because of this I'd say that the wobble isn't just the cables fault.

Knowing my recent luck it will soon shatter into a million peices and blind me though

Was that the 309 GTi16 one that was listed recently? If so, won't it be the shorter LHD cable and hence useless?

Bought it a month or so ago, but yes it's about 10cm shorter than the 205 one! it fits, but only just :D

Doh, unsure if I'll use it now, as it brings the cable closer to my manifold heatsheild

Ar well, didn't cost alot :)
