Got My Cossie Intercooler....

Recommended Posts

Greenys_meanies

Got me a cossie intercooler of ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=8040151065

The only trouble is it's huge! the guy who sold me it said it was a 2wd item, but i'm not sure.

What size is a 2wd / 4wd unit?

this one is 96mm D x 98mm H x 405mm W (Matrix size)

Can anyone confirm???

The 2wd saff and the 3dr cossie (non 500) intercooler is the same thing, the 4wd saff had a physically slightly bigger intercooler. But what you have there looks a bit like an Escort cossie cooler. By looking at that pic you posted up, there looks to be an additional tube coming into the cooler from the righthand side. A proper intercooler is air to air.. but on the escort cossies.. some had a part chargecooler system to do with it... which could account for this extra tube.

Whatever it is it will do the job.. and yes there will be room for it with a bit of radiator moving.

P.s Big turbo escorts had water injection from the factory, but it was never plugged in. It might have something to do with that too. (The tube that is)

Definately a sierra one, I've got two on my car ;)

Pretty sure the pipe's for a dump valve. Just blanked them off on mine with a length of hose and an ali bung.

The 4wd ones are twice as deep afaik so the frontal area of the core's the same, but it extends twice as far back into the car if that makes sense.
