I suggest you find a friend who has some sort of race/rally license and will let you borrow their blue book.

The regs for roll cages are obviously tight on exactly what you can and cannot have for competing cages - although as you aren't certfied to make competition cages it would be inelligible.

However, if you know what you are doing, have access to the right spec tubing, proper bending equipment, meet or exceed the spec required in the blue book, and last but by no means least weld it together correctly then the cage should be perfectly functionable

The Blue Book can be bought from the MSA - it contains all the regs for the cages (not really a lot) and a load of other stuff you'll probably never read. Does have lots of pics of cage designs in the back and the spec of the materials needed.

Its £22 but AFAIK the regs on cages haven't changed for a while so a post in wanted section for a 2003/4/5 blue book may result in much cheaper info!

Might be worth having a quick look on ebay as well - stuff like that can often turn up

As far as it stands at the moment there are no official regs for trackdays and won't be in the near future.

Our main library has a copy of the Blue Book (reference only, so can't take out) but you could read/ photocopy the relevant bits. ;)
