Rollcage Seam

Recommended Posts

kent

Im am planning to put my rollcage into my car this winter. I have bought bendt tubing that I need to adapt into the car. And I want to build it so that it can be mounted into/out the car easy.

Is there any recomendations of a suitable seam.

Not sure what you mean by a "suitable seam"...

Are you asking how best to attach it to the car bodywork?

If so, try and have a look at some commerical bolt-in cages and copy the fixing methods that they use...

Hehe I knew it was my english

No I dont mean the best way to attach it to the bodywork.

Im trying to describe how to take the cage appart. Like the tube that is running where the door is. How can I make make two "seams" so I can take that part away from the car. That is to be able to take the cage apart.

Usually the rear hoop and front hoop are seperate.

The door bars bolt into welded links on both hoops

Rear diagonal bolts into wedded links each side top and bottom

Front and rear hoops have a sleeve that fits over the top and then bolted through

3mm plates are welded into the car and the feet of the cage and bolted onto them

As said look at a few available ones. Its not very adviseable to keep removing a cage though as the fit should be tight to get the best out of it.
