Guest Az_GTi Posted March 2, 2006 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EBC-PERFORMANCE-UPGR...6QQcmdZViewItem Anyone here have this clutch? Seems a good seller, decent price. But is it "worth" it? My clutch is now very high and beginning to slip in 5th so not good. Appreciate your thoughts... Cheers
Jonmurgie 2 Posted March 2, 2006 Unless you have a Turbo 205 then you really don't need anything more than the standard clutch. It's torque that requires uprated clutchs and even tuned 205's don't produce massive torque (except the turbo of course!)

Cheers John, yeh I was aware of that, personally I just like the "feel" of a heavier clutch. I had one put into my old car (Nissan Pulsar GTi-R) and that transformed the car completely. Felt much better, took a few days to get used to but I loved it. I assume this EBC clutch would be heavier than the standard, if so then I guess it's worth it. Strange because I haven't really heard much about it (always hear about AP & Helix etc). Can't really have a worse feel than a standard can you? ... Factored clutch is about £70 AFAIK... les3002 0 Posted March 3, 2006 isnt it when they have no springs in the friction plate they become heavier?
jackherer 543 Posted March 3, 2006 I got one of those EBC performance clutches for my Mi16 from another seller on ebay for, er, £20 brand new still sealed in the box. I guess it was a random one off Its a pretty standard design so I think calling them performance clutches is stretching things a bit but the quality is obviously much better than the LUK replacement clutches I normally get. Also theres a voucher on the box that will get me a fiver if I send it to EBC with a used clutch

So long as the bite is fine (heavier the pedal with a harsher bite the better ) then it's all good. I'm gonna grab one anyway... hopefully I'll get a fiver voucher thingy too coz my current clutch is most definately "used" Cheers
Guest Az_GTi Posted March 13, 2006 Ended up getting a Helix organic (not race/rally), got a really good deal on one, couldn't say no really. Really pleased with it, the feel is excellent, just what I was looking for
