Guest Tappage Posted February 28, 2006 Evening people, Im collecting a 1992 1.9GTI later on this week and ive been informed by the owner its lost all drive. He "thinks" its a gearbox fault but is there anythng else i should be looking at? Would a collapsed rear beam stop the car from driving? A mechanic friend of mine also mentioned of a well known 205 problem with clutches jamming/seizing. Is he right? Any feedback will be gratefully received Thanks Nick
Richie-Van-GTi 73 2 Cars Posted February 28, 2006 I have heard to the clutch jamming on the be1 box, something to do with the short bar between the cabl lever and the cutch arm lever.
Jonmurgie 2 Posted February 28, 2006 It really sounds like you need to collect that car with a trailer... I personally wouldn't drive it with a collapsed rear beam, you'll be snaking all over the road! No idea on the lack of drive I'm affraid...
