Car Doesnt Drive?

Recommended Posts

Guest Tappage

Evening people,

Im collecting a 1992 1.9GTI later on this week and ive been informed by the owner its lost all drive.

He "thinks" its a gearbox fault but is there anythng else i should be looking at? Would a collapsed rear beam stop the car from driving? A mechanic friend of mine also mentioned of a well known 205 problem with clutches jamming/seizing. Is he right?

Any feedback will be gratefully received

Thanks

Nick

I have heard to the clutch jamming on the be1 box, something to do with the short bar between the cabl lever and the cutch arm lever.

It really sounds like you need to collect that car with a trailer... I personally wouldn't drive it with a collapsed rear beam, you'll be snaking all over the road!

No idea on the lack of drive I'm affraid...
