Clio Rear Wiper Conversion (phase/mark Questions)

Right I've been looking this up in the archives and have ended up a bit confused. Apparantly the phase 1 and 2 Clio wiper fit which is all good then someone confused it all and mentioned a 172 as a phase 2.

 

So to clear up the phase/mark differences -

 

Mk 1, Ph 1, 91-93, Valver with Turbines, Willy 1 etc

Mk 1, Ph 2 93-96, Different Valver wheels, Willy 2+3

Mk 1, Ph 3 96-98, More rounded front lights, no valver!

Mk 2, Ph 1 98-01ish, new shape Clio, early 172 shape

Mk 2, Ph 2 01ish-05, more angular front lights, 182 model.

 

Right so based on that which rear wiper arm fits the 205? I'd imagine it'd be the Mk 1, Ph 3, as its a similar size car and the most modern before you get to the new shape which I guess wouldn't fit?

I'd hazard a guess and say that a Mk1 wiper should fit the bill. This mods been around for a bit longer than the Mk2 has. U probably wont find much difference through the different phases. (Dont quote me on this tho, i drive a 205 not a clio )

As dave says, phase 1 and 2 of the mk1 clio.

Phase 1 is chunky and angular, phase 2 is thinner and curved.

 

I like the phase1 wiper, but both don't wipe the window properly!

Aye they were s*ite on my old Clio, but I think my 205s wiper is bent so it can't be much worse

yeah mk1 phase 2 - I've got the part number for the blade at home, i bought two from GSF last time in case i forgot which on e it was i needed!

i like mine, and the swept area you lose is negligable IMO

I think mine is off a phase 3 Mk1 as it's chunkier than the one in the picture above and seems to be more straight with just one bend rather than a longer curve like that one.

 

The blade is shorter on the clio since the rear windscreen is smaller but you can fit a larger blade to increase the swept area.

I recommend you get the one that actually matches the style and shape of the car.
