How Do You Remove The Brake Servo?

Recommended Posts

GLPoomobile

I have the MC etc off of it, and Haynes says to disconnect the push rod from the pedal and undo two bolts behind.

I couldn;t see the bolts and didn;t have time to start removing random stuff to try and find them.

Do you have to remove the bit of trim that is held on with loads of those annoying washers that are a bitch to get off?

Yes you do. Then underneath that sound deadening are 7, 13mm nuts that all need to be removed. Its an arse of a job!

Bollocks to it then. I'm not that bothered about taking it off.

Haynes hit's the spot again!

It is quite easy but there are actually 4 13mm bolts holding the servo on (if you undo the 7 10mm nuts you will remove the whole pedal box comple with servo). Ther are difficult to see at first as they have sponge/sound proofing covering them (but its a seperate piece of soundproofing to the large bulkhead one). They are in close proxmity to the top of brake pedal and not that spread out.

The clip for the brake pedal just pushes off with a screwdriver and the pivot bar slides out.

Removing the servo is a piece of piss - just 4 x 13mm nuts as C_W says.

Removing the entire pedal box is a bastard, but you should get the servo out in ten minutes.
