Gti/cti Back Seat Back Rest - Backing Material

Recommended Posts

Frequentflyer

Hallo all,

Have recently bought some all leather back seats from another Forum member.

The black "vinyl type" backing material for the back rests - i.e., the part of the back rests that you see if you are looking in the boot - has seen better days, and I was wondering if you can still buy this material from Peugeot or somewhere else? Anyone know?

Also has anyone tried to do this before?, and if so, how did you do it?

If I can get hold of some, I suppose the best thing to do would be to remove the old scuffed material and sew in the new stuff? But alternatively one could also either just sew or "stick it on" over the existing material?

Another thought was to buy some black tufted carpet and replace the whole boot flooring, and at the same time do the seat back rests as well?!?

Any experience/ideas welcomed.

Thanks

Roy

Super Josh

If it is just scuffed and so the white underneath is showing through. How about using some of the Halfords Black Vinyl spray? It's meant for flexible surfaces and should look okay when they are recoloured. It's about 10 quid a can.

If you have many peeps lookin in the boot then surely you want it to look as good as poss, down to personal preference tho at the end of the day.

Or if you like your music loud, a uncovered metal seat back can be a good place to mount an amp. Solid, secure, and the metal helps diperse heat.
