Nice one. When it gets a bit warmer, we are going to kick start some Yorkshire meets around Sheffield again, so we can see it in action. last time I saw you, you were lighting up tyres round Curborough!!

"When it gets a bit warmer".....as opposed to todays snow covered roads and 2degree chill!

I was in that black Mi at curborough what i borrowed, it was found later that it had been in a massive front ender and the inner arches were trying to rip away from the rest of the chassis, so that one got stripped :( could be something to do with the lack of traction that day :) but theres me and 2 other mates of mine (daz with the miami blue im doing now and another MI'd 205) who would come along to any meets around the south yorkshire area. Keep us posted when you get more details.

Yeh its high temperature engine paint, just had it lying aroung so i decided to use it up.

Cool looking good mate.

Whats the black plate/cap over the end of the camshaft where the PAS pulley would go? Is it a mount for something else or just a cap to cover the end of the spinning shaft?

Its just a cover plate with a gasket on to stop oil coming out from the end of the cam, there were no camseals on the dizzy end of the head when I got the engine. I have since put camseals on both inlet and exhaust cams on the dizzy side. I think I might put that cover on the end of the exhaust cam just to stop owt catching on the end of the cam when its spinning.

Just thought I would add after looking through your pics that the XU10J4 DOES have a hole in the block for the relevant oil pressure gauge sensor. Its to the left of the breather for the roceker cover on the front of the block. Its clearly visible in one of your pics and presently has a bung with a copper washer in it.

Get a new sensor from pug and solder the correct connector onto the end of the wire.

Ahh cheers maxi for that bit of info, I have already ordered a t-piece from LMA (it was only cheap) which has the correct threads for the 1.9 gauge and warning light switch, but now i know thats the correct hole for the gauge I think ill use the proper one.

Thanks :)

Dont use a T piece mate, run it how pug intended! Buy a new sensor from the main dealer bang it in. Just out of interst, have you got any contact details for LMA as I need a T piece for GTi6 and 2.0turbo conversion as they really dont have a sceond hole in the block for a gauge sensor.

I Have a web address and fax number for LMA But i ordered my T-Piece through Halfords. It only cost £4.95, if your after the same T-Piece as I have the part number is LMA 054M oil gauge T-Piece M16*1.5 to M10*1. The LMA website is www.LMA-Group.com Fax No. 01234216741

conversion now fully completed and 1st test drive today by me daz the car owner

The sound of this new engine is very impressive and no more smokey fumes like the old engine. The tickover is spot on and it pulls very smoothly with no jerky actions. Plenty of torque steadliy accelerating upto 3500 rpm was fast enough and my m8 james had to floor the ford focus to keep up.

I cant wait until ive got the engine run in and see how it performs revving past 3500 rpm with the benefit of having the cat cams inlet cam fitted.

Hope to see some of you 205 drivers at events this year and some group meets.

That would have been the focus zetec (1.6 cough) trying to keep up :D. Even though he didnt want to take the 205 past 4000 rpm whilst running it in i had to floor the focus to keep up with it. Try and get round to have a look at it mate im sure you will be impressed :D
