Moys1.9 0 Posted February 23, 2006 Just got car back from having head gasket done. Whilst under repair it was outside for a month . Got the car back on tow cause it wouldn't start. Checked the firing order was correct and got a new ignition coil. Its turnin t starter but its only got a rare spark. gonna try a new HT lead for the ciol to dizzy cap connection cause the cable is old. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated gents. cheers
kate205gti 4 Posted February 23, 2006 is it getting petrol? fuel pump priming? if its sparking but not well then is the coil def ok? (tested on another car?) coil lead from coil to dizzy cap ok and not corroded? ignition amp *could* be a cause but usually causes misfire instead of not starting - worth checking these connections too - and the connections on the brown plug that goes into the coil
