Gti-6 Engine Mountings

i need to replace the top engine mount in my 205 so was gonna go full whack and just but a full set of Grp N mounts from Baker website.....

 

in afew months im going to be doin a gti-6 conversion hopefully, are the mounting points the same as in teh standard 205?? will just get a OE part if i need to change mounts and mounting points etc etc

 

oh and ill get stiffer mounts once i do get the engine ofcourse

Mounts are the same. Only the rubbers on the top mount to prevent forward and backward movement are different. I use the 306 ones, more support for the 306 mount.

excellent, ill just buy the full set then and get rubbers when i get the engine!

Just to confirm, I have used the whole kit supplied by Baker Bushes and mountings on my 6 engined 205. All fits fine, I used the buffers supplied with the kit but put some washers behind them to get a tight fit.

Does the 6 bottom mounting bush make the engine firm enough to stop it hitting the bulkhead?

I would have thought so, its quite stiff at the moment, but may soften.

I have a custom manifold so it not entirely sure.

The standard bush isnt firm enough to limit engine movement in my experience.

I still experience knocks, despite bulkhead bashing.
