Mace1981 0 Posted February 22, 2006 Guys, running 1.9 fronts and standard drums on rear, Will shortly be upgrading my brakes. Going to go for 1144's and Ate Power discs on the front! are these good enough? Im also going to do the rear shoes while im there. Standard oe shoes or does anyone have a better option? Your comments are much appreciated. Also what everyones views on pedal feel with braided hoses, travel, feel etc.. Cheers Tah
hengti 2 Posted February 22, 2006 I put Autofive's Tarox/Greenstuff combo on the front of mine - quite cheap at £100ish as I recall Perfectly happy with it - very good brakes once they've got a bit of heat in them and they don't fade too easily SS hoses also a good upgrade - improve pedal feel alot. Word of warning though - make sure you renew the master cylinder if you're fitting ss hoses - the improvement in the system can blow tired mc seals - as I found out the hard way ... pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted February 23, 2006 For a standard road car the ATE powerdiscs & decent pads will be more than good enough imo. Probably cost about the same price as the above mentioned set-up but might last longer. I've been running both my cars on Powerdiscs & standard pads for the last 18 months with no complaints & they are still going strong. Graham.
