Dom9 2 Posted February 22, 2006 I'm guessing this conversion would be similar to the GTI-6 engine conversion that Maxi and others have done... Since it is meant to be roughly the same engine! A quick search in this forum and the general forum should answer your questions! Hang on, thats on the assumption that you are talking about the 16v XSi (like I have)... If it's the 8v then swap your inlet manifold, cam cover etc and bolt it straight in... A search for XU10 on here should answer your questions! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Would have probably had that off you! Anyway... Do some searches on here for the XU10J2 head then and you should get plenty of conversion tips... The block should mount on the same points as the old engine... You can then just use the GTI cam and management, with the inlet manifold etc, which makes the conversion pretty much plug and play....
