Recommended Posts

Hi all

My air flow meter is playing around so i'm trying to find a new or re-conditioned one.

Can anyone help and suggest place to buy from please?

You can try reconditioning it yourself. It's only a case of prying the plastic cover off and making a small adjustment inside. If yours is playing up then you've got nothing to loose.

I did mine a while ago. There are some pics here.

If that doesn't work then Euro Car Parts do them on an exchange basis. Not cheap though. It's probably easier to get one from a breakers, or through a wanted ad.

If you go to a breakers take a small wire brush scrub the crud off the part number so you can read it. I got one off a vauxhall recently and needed to check it was compatible the brush would have been handy. It cost me £15 I dont know if that was expensive for an old AFM but it was a lot cheaper than new

bro, air flow meters seem to be a regular on ebay, so you might pick one up cheap there.

I reakon you could probably still buy it new from a Peugeot Dealership but it will cost you a small fortune.

Peugeot dealer quoted over £300 for a new one.

GSF sell them for around £200 IIRC. Not sure if they are new or reconditioned. Try reconditioning yours or a second hand one as said otherwise it's silly money to buy new.

You can get brand new ones (not reconned) for about £200ish. Ive bought reconned ones in the past and they never last.

2nd hands ones are obviously cheap but you dont really know what you are getting.

I got lucky and bought a brand new unit from my local peugeot dealer for £95. It was part of their old stock clearout policy. :D

But, as mentioned, I believe the price should've been £365. ;)

Mart
