Camera Mount

Recommended Posts

mbayley77

I have tried a search but to no success before i get told too :)

I seem to remember a topic a while ago about someone who has made their own in car camera mounting device.

Anyone know who it was or what topic it was.

Thanks

Cheers.

Simple and effective just what i was looking for.

Question? What is the camera linked into? not too up to date on little cameras like that.

I was gonna use a normal video camera.

The mount is made from the top of a camera tripod , fastened to a piece of bar welded to a formed piece of 1mm plate.

By keeping the mount top from the tripod , i can point the lens virtually anywhere .

Not shown in the picture , is the screw mount for a standard video / still camera as i took it off to allow the use of the lipstick camera in the picture .

The only reason i used the lipstick camera was vibration protection of my video unit , as this is used for road rallying where some of the roads used are rougher than stages .

The lipstick plugs into the AV in port .

I use a Manfrotto Superclamp and it works a treat, they are not very expensive and a good camera store will carry it. You will also need a double ball tripod head to allow you to adjust to any position.
