Rear Windscreen Washer

Recommended Posts

My rear washer jet doesn't work - I've filled it up and it just pisses the water into the boot.

I've spoke to my neighbour who has the same problem on his 1.9, he said it's something about the pipe that the water travels in being disconnected. He said I should try taking the boot door card off, but when he did it to his he couldn't actually see the pipe.

Is it behind the door card or in the actual body of the boot lid?

Any solutions? Someone suggested connecting a new tube and threading it through, but to be honest I wouldn't know where to start.

Rear washer bottle is at the drivers side inner arch in the boot but I guess you've found that to fill it up.

The pipe enters the boot at the top near the hinges & runs to the spray nozzle, it sounds like yours has come off the back of the nozzle. Pop the nozzle off & with the boot panel off the pipe will be at the top of the panel & awkward to find. If water is running into the boot this'll be the problem imo.

Cheers mate, I'll have a look tomorrow.

Also, for some reason my blowers stopped working today for a few minutes, then came back on...

Is this normal? Dodgy connection or are they looking to quit altogether?

One more thing: Which fuse is for the glovebox light? Bought a new bulb for it today, but it didn't fix it...

It depends on the age of the car as Peugeot messed about with the fuses over the years. According to the haynes manual:

Pre 1986 = Fuse #8 (20 amp)

1986-1991 = Fuse #7 (20 amp)

1991+ = Fuse #3 (25 amp)

The blower motor is proibably the usual fault of the rheostat dying & you loose control of the motor, either doesn't work at all or works randomly when it wants.

Its in the passenger footwell on the heater box held in by two screws diagonally opposed & has a plug (usually white) with four wires going into it.

Guessing it isn't too much to replace, then?

It's all working fine now, and funnily enough the glovebox light works, too.

The rear squirter is hitting the window as opposed to the boot now, as well :D

Ahh well, no biggy if it ever does cut out altogether.

Glovebox light likes to work only every now and again it seems... Quite annoying :D
