Written My Car Off, Whats Worth Stripping

Rally Slag

ok, i wrote my phase 1 1.9 of yesturday, gutted but s*it happens. Anyway plan is to get another one in the future possibly a 1.6 non sunroof model. I just wana know what to keep off the 1.9, engine and box are ok, front suspension is fuked, im prety sure rear disc beam is ok and its a refurbished beam so worth keeping. Anyway what else would i need to put the 1.9 engine into a 1.6, ECU thats under the dash i know i need that, do i need the hole loom though? the gauges from the 1.9? fuel pump, rad, oil cooler etc etc..... just wana know what i need to do the full conversion before i get rid of the rest of the car. Oh and by the way, the car is unrepairable for the road cause it will never drive properly again but would probably be perfect for a stock and banger racers, if anyone wants a shell minus the engine and box and rear beam and wheels, let me know, you can have it for free. The damage from the crash is as follows:

slam panal is all twisted, inner wing bent in badly, top strut on the body all punched out and upwards, wishbone bent, drive shaft fuked, ball joint snapped in half, brake disc exploded into 3 pieces, steering rack arm bent, both front wings twisted, bonnet bent, front bumper smashed, both front wheel arches smashed to bits, both floor pans pushed up, passenger wheel buckled, drivers tire bulged out, radiator cracked, cooling fans smashed, passenger side headlight and indicator smashed, front valanced all cracked and twisted and windscreen wiper motor mechanism all fuked up.

If you've got the space strip off and keep as much as you can then scrap the shell - If you're planning on getting another 205 you'll probably find having a load of spares invaluable.

Anything you don't need you can sell on.

Just out of interest whats the dash like? I need a phase one dash for my 1.6.

Mart

I would really like the locks and ignition barrel and fuel filler cap and keys

I lost my keys this weekend so now have a car happily sat quiet on my drive that i cant get into.

passenger door is not damaged but its completly rotten, about to fall off, same as drivers door. Im keeping the lock set cause its brand new and i'll use it in the future. The dash is fine, glove box is missing but the main dash is ok no holes drilled in it or stuff, more or less mint. im keeping the clocks though but you can have the original clocks for the car, mine have white dials in

There is a guide on the Main website on how to convert a 1.6 to 1.9. It contains a list of all the components needed. But as already said, you'd be advised to keep as much as possible if you intend to get another 205 since you can never have enough spares.
