jonarob 0 Posted February 18, 2006 (edited) OK, bought my first 205 GTi today. 1.6, grey, 58,000 miles - great condition all round. I'll post a new thread with pics elsewhere in a couple of days, but for now: My passenger side door lock (and this was rather annoyingly held a secret by the seller) won't work. Basically, if I put the key in the door, the key won't move at all/occasionally moves in one direction but to no unlocking effect. Basically, it feels like if I put some muscle into it, I'd snap the key. The door still locks and opens via the central locking from the driver's side and how often do you use the passenger lock? - but it's annoying all the same. Any suggestions? Is it buggered? There's also an occasional crunch when putting it into reverse - perhaps me with the clutch, though... Is this normal? Happens maybe 1/10 times, but like I say, it might be my lazy clutch foot... Another thing - the car seems to sit fairly low at the back - is this what they all look like or is something else buggered? It hasn't been lowered to the best of my knowledge. EDIT: one more thing, the driving lights - do they only come on when you have your full beams on or is there a way to have them on with dipped? I thought they'd come on with the sidelights but they don't. FYI, I'm not one of those people who like to drive around in the day with their fogs on because it looks cool, I'm just worried mine are broke or something... If that doesn't work take off the door card, and give the mechanism a good blast aswell as spraying around the inside of the actual lock. Then move all the parts (rods etc) you can around a good few times to free them off. When you turn the lock is the key definitely turning?, might the whole lock be turning or the key bending a bit? With the clutch, make sure you're not lazy, if it keeps doing it you know its a 'real' problem. Driving lights come on with full beam and you could stick up a pic of the car and I'm sure somebody could judge whether it is a bit low at the back. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
