Sanchez 0 Posted February 18, 2006 My 205 gets used every weekend but not at all during the week. It;s got really great body work and even the plastic trim is in great condition. Obviously I don't want the car to fade in the sun or for it to get damaged in any way. I've been considering a car cover as I don't have a garage. Are these worth the money? I know theye are not that expensive but someone told me that they 'sweat' and the last thing I want is moisture sitting on the car. If they are good can anyone recommend me a specific cover. pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted February 18, 2006 I think they are worth it, mine spends most of its life in the garage currently & it keeps the paint work dry & clean so saves time when it sees the light of day next time by not needing to wash it so it looks respectable. I seem to remember it was about £42 + delivery from their ebay shop. No one else bid on it so I got it for the starting price. Since bought one for a mates Boxster & he is well pleased with it. dee205 3 Posted February 18, 2006 I got an AA one from Argos for just over £20. Good job too. I've heard a few people diss them and say the scratch the paint but that's just bollox. Give he car a good wash and wax and make sure there's know bits of dirt on the car and you'll be fine. Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted February 19, 2006 the paint scratching can occur if they are not securely tied down and the material is quite abrasive, hence when the wind picks up it slides over the paintwork and scratches. kate205gti 4 Posted February 21, 2006 i bought a cheap car "cap" for from halfrauds for my cti but wouldnt rate it tbh - let water in! also youre not supposed to leave them on the car for more than 24hours so probably worth investing in a decent one is good for when it freezes thou - no de-icing!
