burns 0 Posted February 17, 2006 Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help with this. I've got a freind who needs some new brakes for his 205 XS, and I happen to have some from the 309 GTi I just broke. Could anyone tell me if these will fit? If so what's the easiest way to do it, will the whole hub go on, or do you need to swap the calipers onto the old hub, I assume you need the vented disks due to the thickness to work with the GTi calipers? Ta for any help.
jackherer 543 Posted February 17, 2006 Ive never done it myself but I believe you can fit the 1.9/309 GTI calipers to the base model hubs and then use 205 1.6 GTI discs. Hopefully someone that has done this can confirm it..
DaveW 6 Posted February 17, 2006 straight fit mate, tho you wont be able to use the steel wheels with the 1.9 calipers.
burns 0 Posted February 17, 2006 He's already got the 1.9 wheels, so it should just be a straight swap with any luck.
