Strut Top Mounts

Recommended Posts

casnell

Hi guys, I'm rallying a 205 in OZ and looking advice re strut top mounts. I'm using Drummond adjustable coil-overs on the front, but the mounts don't seem up to the job, any suggestions?

Thanks, Chris

there is a eccentric one from TAS which you will have camber adjustability. unfortunately you have castor degree adjusted each time you change the camber degree which may cause uneven castor degree.

i bought one from Japanese (CUSCO) and it worked fine. based on the japs one i made a castor adjustable top plate and finally comes up with camber AND castor adjustable top mounts.

take a look at this link, you will know what i have gone through. also, the CUSCO one is not too expensive compare to the TAS one, it was about 120-150 quid.

TAS aren't around any more... are you actually after more camber/castor or just a stronger top mount?

Strength mainly, camber adjustment would be good though...

There's nothing secret about it, just use aftermarket WRX top mounts and redrill the tower for the bigger PCD. Depending on which strut you use, you may have make a custom nut for the shaft. They also do a mod with the bearing from memory. Contact Wuillemins in Sydney.

Thanks Peter, will try. The mounts from the UK were 80quid, not too bad, but 48 quid postage!
