carbers205 1 Posted February 14, 2006 hi guys im now running a 405 and am in the process of upgrading the standard speakers. i was just wondering if there is any difference in wiring between 2-way and 3-way speakers, ie could i use the existing wires to my standard speakers on new 3-way ones? cheers andy Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
allanallen 528 2 Cars Posted February 14, 2006 may i first congratulate you on your choice of car the wiring should be the same, the 3ways may have a seperate tweeter which is wired to the speeker anyway with a bass blocker in line (some resistor chippy thingy) my amp runs a thicker cable upto the doors then its standard cable to the speaker(couldnt be bothered routing it properly!) works fine Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yes. It's just a +ve and -ve that goes into your speakers. The fact your new speakers are 3-way has nothing to do with the wiring. 3 way is 3 parts of sound from the speaker (low/mid/high) , it's not how you wire it.
