Under Driven Bottom Pulley

Recommended Posts

While I've got the Mi out the pug for a swap, I was thinking about getting my machine shop to knock up a copy of the bottom pulley, in alloy and making it under driven, As these are available on the vauxhall engines and have seen tiny gains of 5bhp @7k due to less drag form the alt I guess (as it will be spinning less fast, bearing and belt will drag less?) Also there's a small weight saving to be had. Are these available for the pug engines at all, as if they are I'd like to see how much they cost. And if anyone would be interested as I know if I get 10 units made up the cost would be significantly less, like £30-40 each rather than 70ish for aone off, would be anodised in grey (industrial adnodising) for durablilty.

If this actually does work and it is a straight fit, I'd definetly be interested in one.
