Late 405 Mi-16/ 306 Be Gearoxes

Hi all

Anyone have anyidea how to get the gearbox off the late style BE3 clutch operating system, I dont really want to damage anything, wondering if there is a special way, as i now have two engines with boxes stuck on them!

Do you mean the 'pull' rather than 'push' clutch like on the 306 Dturbo? If it is, you remove the pin holding on the clutch arm and pull off the arm, this allows you to pull the gearbox away from the engine without the arm catching. HTH

yes thats the one, is that the 'proper' way of doing it? As knocking the pin out is going to be a swine, I can just tell

That is the way, Must say I've never had a problem with removing these yet!!

the pin or the box? lets just say this one has seen ALOT of road salt
