Rose Joined Non-adjustable Bottom Arms

Recommended Posts

Hi

Following on from the Rose Jointed Bottom Arm thread that was running a few weeks ago, I mentioned towards the end of the thread that a friend of mine was making replaceable ball jointed bottom arms.

I managed to go and see him last weekend, but he didn't have a set in stock, although he did have a spare ball joint that he'd cut off a bottom arm to make rose jointed adjustable ones, and had machined out the stump he had left as an example.

I took a few photos of the ball joint so that everybody can get the idead of the conversion that he does.

The pins that are supplied with the arms have a notch cut in them, like the Group N ones, and not like the one in the pic (that one is only an example) They are also made from EN24 steel - the same as the original pins and wheel studs.

He's an ex M.O.D. machinist so the quality of work is excellent, and the arms have been tried and tested on Irish forest rallies and on Welsh road rallies with no faults.

hi 205wrc,

i had a very similar set of rose jointed wishbone arms before and they were camber adjustable too(very easy adjustability).

you may have a look here:

unfortunately the screws were too weak, they didn't last for long. went for the mot and came back and GONE. the screw broke and the otherside bent badly! planned to get another much thicker and stronger screws, but decided to use top mount adjustable plates instead. those plates survived trackdays but not sure if they can survive rally or not.

interested may take a look here about my suspension system now and before:

cheers

p.s. those arms with new but same size screws fitted are still lying around in the workshop. may take few more photos to show you guy if you want.

Those adjustable bottom arms look really weak. Personally I wouldn't drive a car with those fitted.

The ones in my photos above aren't welded to the arm in any way - that bit of arm above is just an example. The replaceable bottom ball joint is one complete arm - not cut or welded in any way, its just the actual ball joint thats been modified. He does do adjustable bottom arms, but they are like the PTS ones (not TAS :) )

This seems interesting, but we are fairly strict as far as advertising and business sales go.

What I suggest is that you make a topic in the Group Buys, Bargains and Discounts forum, with details and pricing of the wishbones. If you can get us a keen price with a group buy or similar then all the better, but we don't allow topics like this one normally.

We also have a for sale forum for single, personal sales. You won't be able to see this until you become a driver member.
