the stock 1.8 td motor although i do have a chance of the 1.9td xantia motor the same as the 306's

Im going to get the head stage 3 tuned and make a tubelur exhaust manifold my other turbo.

The hdi's are electronic mangement are they not? i like the good old mechanical pumps can do it my self if you know what i mean, although the hdi would produce loads more power

The Derv Doc did a 306 td 1.9 motor and got 160bhp + 35 bhp nos. not bothered about the nos but as my motor is 10 bhp less from a 1.9 stock 150bhp is a realistic target, but with loads of torque.

its not 10 bhp down, only 2. the 205 figures had no intercooler, compare the BX 1.7td with the 1.9 td....90bhp and 92bhp.

the 1.9 hdi were 90 bhp too

the only swap worth doing to upgrade a 1.7 is a 2.1 mech or a 2.2 hdi

there is a swede running a 206 (was a 205) 2.2hdi twin turbo with sommat like 200-250bhp? he drag races it!

a hybrid turbo from turbo technics can give 175 its a T2 with T3 compressor in it.

Hey Greenies.

Ive been thinking about sticking an intercooler in my workhorse for a while now and was going to put one under the rad but its a bit harder for us seen as the air inlet is behind the engine. Them lucky petrol buggers got the air intake at the front of their engine where it bloody should be! So I ditched my plans for a while...but how are you getting on with it? Maybe you could rekindle my intercooler dream with your progress?

On another note I'm putting a 1.9td intercooled engine into my stdt and I'm hoping that an auto bonnet will fit over the top mounted intercooler. Maybe I'll be able to copy what they do with the bonnet lining and get air running over it from under the bonnet like they seem to be able to do with all these cars that have the top mounted intercooler but no bonnet vent!

I'm gonna use a cossie intercooler above the rad, with the air filter to turbo down the left hand side, pipe from the turbo to i/c next the return from i/c to a NA diesel intake manifold. i was gonna use a xantia inlet but i don't believe there will be any advantage to this and i can port the ali NA one!

I think all the pipes will fit under the bonnet just!

An auto bonnet will fit over a top mounted i/c, however i don't think there is still enough room for ducting. (this is only what i've heard, so could be complete sh1t!)

as soon as i get going on the project i'll put a post up.

cheers daz. have you got you pump fixed yet from all that veg oil?
