Mad Professor 7 Posted February 8, 2006 Hi All. Wile I was was working on and under the car today. When the engine was running is sounded like I had a very angry wasp in the oil sump. What could it be?
M3Evo 0 Posted February 8, 2006 Wouldn't have been the pump drive chain or something would it? Or mabey the cam belt? My engine's got a bit of a buzz which I'm (blindly) attributing to the cam belt
Mad Professor 7 Posted February 8, 2006 It's in the sump it's self, So the only thing I can't think of off the top of my head is the Oil Pump.

Guest BrainFluid Posted February 11, 2006 What-ever it is, I dont like the sound of it! Good luck mate, sorry but I've never encountered this before
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted February 12, 2006 It'll be the chain running on the cog for the oil pump, they make enough noise on motorbikes. I've never listened that clsoely to mine but I'd expect it'll be there to an extent on all engines, maybe the oil pump isn't exectly in a straight line which is making it noisier than normal. Graham.
