jonD6B 0 Posted February 5, 2006 I want to remove the variable dimmer switch for the dashboard lights. I have bridged the connection without the switch and they light up full as I wish them to but is there anything in the switch which is there to control the current? Basically, is it safe to do this as a permenant fixture or could it overheat?
Ryan 99 Posted February 5, 2006 (edited) It'll be fine. All the dimmer does is limit the voltage that reaches the lights, thus making them dimmer. When turned to full it lets the full battery voltage through. Edited February 5, 2006 by RyanMoore
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted February 6, 2006 Just get the plate from a base model 205 which doesn't have the dimmer & plug that in. Graham.
jonD6B 0 Posted February 7, 2006 Can I just connect the two wires together with a teminal block then?
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted February 8, 2006 I suppose so, if its wrong it'll just blow the fuse. Graham.
